Young Prisms are building quite the catalog of slow burning, shoegaze beauties. They’re new album, In Between comes out at the end of March and this is the second taste from that release, and like the first, it’s a psyched out blast of shoegazey dream pop that sounds like the halcyon days of My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive. Of course, there’s just enough slacker psychedelia to give it it’s own flavor and in doing so, it opens the sound up and excites the hell out of me to hear what else is in store for this band.

The new full length from Mint Julep is an dreamy, shoegazey beauty and you can stream the whole thing over at Soundcloud right now, courtesy of The Line of Best Fit. One of the standout tracks in an album loaded with ear goodies, is this one, “Cherry Radio”. It driving beat matches up nicely with the airy, ethereal synths and otherworldly vocals. Definitely a must listen for fans of Slowdive, Secret Shine, and Lush.

Mojave 3 - Love Songs on the Radio

I have been toying with the idea of doing a whole stripped back, dreamy acoustic kind of mixtape for a while but I know that I would pick nothing but old songs and then I doubt anyone would give a damn, but if I were to make that hypothetical mixtape, this track would be guaranteed a place. I first bought this album in 2000, while on a road trip. I picked it up in Madison, Wisconsin and listened to it over and over until I got to Denver. I was hooked on it. Granted, I was five years late to the party, but that’s no matter. It’s hard to find music that sounds better while driving down a quiet highway under blue stars.
