In celebration of my 2372nd post, I thought I’d share this picture from an alternate universe past where people just go apeshit for disposable cameras. The Steve over there just rolls around in a pile of disposables with no regard for safety.

Also, I thought I’d use this opportunity to pass the information to you, my dear readers, who might be interested in my non-music interests. I’ve got a random pop blog over at CrownedInNoise where i’ll be posting more all purpose things that just don’t fit here. Also, you can communicate with me via bird noise @PerfectMidnight (if you’re into tweets that just mean nothing and go nowhere). No facebook, because that shit is evil, but also because i have nothing to offer.

Also, in the event you enjoy mixtapes/podcasts of good jams. I do those too. I aim for once a week but average one ever 11 days or so (i’m guessing). Perhaps you’d like to hear me play radio show host (i keep the interruptions minimal) at Radio Slow Riot Podcasts. Give them a listen or don’t. It’s not a big deal.

Thanks to everyone for the kind messages and reblogs and recommendations and follows and all of that stuff. I really appreciate the support. Take care of yourselves. Be excellent to each other.

Radio Slow Riot - Episode Eight

RADIO SLOW RIOT /// a p|m|w podcast /// Episode Eight (01.30.12)

After taking a couple of weeks off from the podcast circuit, Radio Slow Riot is back with a quick catch up episode of all of the latest and greatest tracks currently populating the blogosphere (with a couple of older tracks thrown in for good measure. This week is almost entirely new music, but the surprise might be that it’s about 50% on the upbeat side. We’re not solely in contemplative dream pop territory here, we mine the lo-fi, power pop, synth pop, new wave, shoegaze, and just about everything else in hopes of finding something fun to cram into your ears. Also, this week, there are only a few interruptions from me, as this one is pretty much a 90 mixtape of the tracks that have been getting the most play in my world. Just some great music to help get you through the workday/school day/whatever day.

Please don’t be afraid to share/reblog with others and or support any and all artists that strike your interest. Stream or download as you wish. Thanks for listening to Radio Slow Riot.

Radio Slow Riot Episode Four

RADIO SLOW RIOT /// a p|m|w podcast /// Episode Four (12.8.11)

Episode Four of the Radio Slow Riot podcast arrives a couple of days late, but brings lots of great new lo-fi, dream pop, shoegaze, and synth pop tracks as well as some classic (and sadly, forgotten) indie rock favorites. In lead up to the next episodes Favorites of 2011 countdown, I decided to stick to a simple, familiar format with this episode, so aside from a batch of excellent covers, we’re going to continue with the show structure that we’ve been using. This week features lots of favorite new music and hopefully there will be some pleasant surprises to discover along the way.

Radio Slow Riot - Episode Three

RADIO SLOW RIOT /// a p|m|w podcast /// Episode Three (11.28.11)

Episode three of the Radio Slow Riot Podcast is finished and ready for listening. This week we’ve got a full two hours of great music to share in an attempt to make up for not releasing a proper show last week. This week we stay within our genre wheelhouse, but things stay a little more upbeat than usual - not to say that we’re more lo-fi indie pop than say shoegaze or dream pop jams, but it’s more an even balance this week. Lot’s of great new tracks as well as a few golden oldies. Definitely a wonderful collection this week. Hands down my favorite so far.

I hope that you enjoy the effort. Please don’t be afraid to share/reblog with others and or support any and all artists that strike your interest. Stream or download as you wish. Thanks for listening to Radio Slow Riot.

RADIO SLOW RIOT /// a p|m|w podcast /// Episode Two (11.14.11)

Here is the second episode of the Radio Slow Riot Podcast. Once again, we’ve got between 90 and 120 minutes of show that bounces from dream pop to shoegaze to indie pop to lo-fi to ambient and all things in between. I kept it tight and stayed away from boring anyone with too much talking, so you can get as much audible goodness as can possibly be squeezed into the allotted time.

RADIO SLOW RIOT /// a p|m|w podcast /// Episode One (11.07.11)

As promised, here is the first episode of the new podcast series, Radio Slow Riot. As mentioned before, the goal is to create a radio-show-type podcast to highlight independent new releases, old favorite deep cuts, and whatever fits between. I keep the talking to a minimum and aim for a consistent vibe. You be the judge. This week is a basic straight forward episode which sticks to the lo-fi, dream pop, and synthier side of things.

I hope that you enjoy the effort. Please don’t be afraid to share/reblog with others and or support any and all artists that strike your interest. Stream or download as you wish. Thanks for listening to Radio Slow Riot.
