Stereogum has done another one of their killer cover experiments by having a ridiculously talented group of bands and artists do a track by track cover of The Strokes’ brilliant Is This It. This is just one of those great takes. Other artists include Real Estate, Owen Pallett, Wise Blood, and Peter, Bjorn, & John to name a few. Plus the kicker is that it’s absolutely free. Naturally this is going to cause all of the usual bitching amongst Strokes fans that this is wholly unnecessary because quite often people seem to not understand the idea behind a tribute, but fuck it. I’m very happy with this one, as I was when Stereogum did tributes to Radiohead’s OK Computer a and Bjork’s Post. Get it for free at Stereogum.
