“The Beauty Surrounds” by Houses // A Quiet Darkness (Out 4.16.13 via Downtown Records)
Following the gorgeous, “Beginnings” (which dropped last month), Houses have released another stunner in the lead up to the release of their album, A Quiet Darkness. This time around the track is “The Beauty Surrounds” and the title is absolutely fitting. The track is a dreamy beauty layered with soft strings, toybox beats, somber synths, and sweet ethereal harmonies. It’s another reason to be absolutely excited about the forthcoming album. Something very special is taking place here. Highest recommendation for fans of The National, Local Natives, and Múm.
